ABOUT US

The Blue Barn Ltd was established in 1984 and is based on the edge of Pool in Wharfedale near Otley, on the West/North Yorkshire border and at Tong Garden Centre. We serve both retail and wholesale customers alike with their pet and animal requirements and have built our reputation over the past 40+ years by providing excellent service, with a friendly and experienced team whose knowledge and expertise in the pet and animal field is unrivalled.

Tong Garden Centre

In Autumn 2024, we opened our second shop in Tong Garden Centre. This if a fully staffed pet food and animal supplies shop, selling our range of dog and cat food and toys, equestrian and small holder ranges as well as small animal feed and bedding. We provide the same high levels of advice and service at Tong and offer a carry to car service for heavier bags.

Range

We work hard to offer the widest range of feed, supplements, bedding and accessories at competitive prices. We cater for dogs, cats, horses, small animals, wild birds, caged birds and smallholders amongst others and sell a broad range of the leading brands as well as our own Blue Barn-branded product, including:
  • For dogs: Nature’s Menu, Macadams, Lily’s Kitchen, Royal Canin, Canagan, Symply, James Wellbeloved, Arden Grange, Burns, Skinners
  • Equestrian: Top Spec, Bailey’s, Spillers, Allen & Page, Naf, Carr Day & Martin, Equine America
  • For cats: Royal Canin, Canagan, Nature's Menu
  • Wild Birds: Johnston & Jeff, Harrisons, Winston Wilds, 
  • For the farm: Jamesons, Argo, ForFarmers/ Farmgate
We also sell and deliver  locally grown hay, haylage and straw as well as different sizes and grades of wood shavings for animal bedding.
Year-round, we sell and deliver kiln-dried logs, kindling, smokeless fuel and Hotmax logs and compost, with plants and gardening products through the spring and summer months.
We have built strong relationships with a range of excellent suppliers so if we don’t have what you are looking for it can soon be ordered into the shop for collection or delivery.

Services

We have qualified staff are trained to dispense veterinary wormers and flea treatments as well as micro-chipping of dogs, cats and small animals. 
Our team can provide advice on all aspects of animal care and we invest in AMTRA (Animal Medicines Training Regulatory Authority) training and development.

Delivery

We provide a free local delivery service (up to 25 miles from Pool, up to 10 miles from Tong) to customers spending over £50 and offer a click and collect service.

At the shop, we will always offer to carry the product to your car.
